I know the basics of motors. Need help on how to relate torque and other motor specs to *my* robot.
I'm designing a fast line follower and want to know specifically how to translate what I want (high speed for a given wheel radius, torque, power/amps, etc.) to a specific motor or range of motors for my project.

HI RICHARD.............

i dont quite get ur question..........it depends on ur track on which  ur bot is moving........
and ur chasis..........ur motor also should satisfy the concept of torque( more torque will effect ur speed )
for a line follower  buid a smalll chasis with motor of around 3v or 4v......if ur problem is not that i have mentioned ........pls do reply ......i will try to help u out...........
