The different is the target devices. Embedded OS have the target to Embedded Devices based on Microcontroller which have the limitation of computing resource i.e., CPU speed, Memory. Whereas General Purpose OS target to a PC based on CPU, i.e., Intel, AMD. which have the larger computational resource.
