Folks,

For some reason, the port is not turning on. I am quite sure that the signal from PIR is coming right. If I connect the PIR out to the relay board, the light turns on.

When I connect the PIR out to the 8051 board, the port is not turned on (I tried all 4 ports). In the function main() if I forcefully turn it on to say "P1 = 1" even then the port is not turning on.

Any ideas why?

Check it with other micro ,If its not working then ,give me the link of  the sensor (datasheet) let me check.
